Mango butter is a blend of saturated solid fats and unsaturated liquid fats, each with different melting points. This variation in melting points means that when mango butter is exposed to extreme temperature changes (in transit, from improper storage, direct exposure to the elements, etc), some fat molecules melt and others remain solid.

As the temperature fluctuates, the melted fats can re‑crystallize at different rates, leading to uneven crystal formation in a process called "blooming". This uneven crystallization is the cause of your grainy/ lumpy Lip Balm(s).

Please note that extreme heat and direct sunlight might cause the beeswax to melt some product into the compostable packaging. Once cooled off again, the balm should harden.

Just Squeeze: While we love our compostable cardboard containers, but sometimes they can become loose in transit. Simply squeeze the bottom of your cap or you can even smack the bottom side of the cap on a corner edge until it warps. This should create a more snug fit on your lip balm tube.

1. Remove The Label: Remove the KOBEE'S label on your Lip Balm tube.
2. Soak In Water: Soak the empty Lip Balm tube in water to help soften it.
3. Cut It Up: Using scissors, cut up the tube into smaller pieces. This is important in helping to speed up the breakdown process if not being added to commercial compost!
4. Add Pieces To Your Home Compost: Take the moist, cut-up pieces and toss it into your home compost or bury it in your garden! You can also bury the pieces into a potted plant, but just note that it will not break down as quickly as it will outside or inside your home compost.
